Emree Weaver

Emree Weaver grew up between rural South Texas and urban Houston but is currently based in central Washington, working as the photo editor for the Yakima Herald-Republic. She previously managed the photo desk as chief photographer and photo editor at the Victoria Advocate in South Texas, worked as a photo fellow at the Texas Tribune and interned at KUT/X, Austin’s NPR station. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Italian at the University of Texas of Austin and obtained her master’s degree in photojournalism, also at UT. She also worked as a photographer for the Texas House of Representatives during the 84th legislative session and served as a teaching assistant for beginner and advanced photography classes at the collegiate level during her graduate studies.
