Kevin Martin is a photo editor at the Star Tribune in Minneapolis. Martin has traveled the newspapers of the south as a photo editor at The State in Columbia, South Carolina, the Knoxville News Sentinel and The Advocate in
Baton Rouge. He has also served as a photo editor for the San Antonio Express-News and The Associated Press.
In 2022 Martin was named the Visual Editor of the Year in the Pictures of the Year International competition. He has twice served as a photography juror for the Pulitzer Prize and is a former Kalish director. Martin was part of the breaking news team which was awarded a Pulitzer Prize for coverage of the aftermath of
George Floyd’s death in 2020.
When he’s not being chased by his two young daughters, Martin also occasionally plays the banjo.
